The client

OMSI began with the exhibition of Oregon’s rich natural resources with the opening of the City Hall Museum in 1906. Today, the museum serves over 1 million visitors at the museum and through off-site education programs. OMSI is ranked as one of the top science centers in the United States and has an international reputation for its innovative exhibits and educational programs. Learn more about OMSI's mission and history.

What they needed

Looking to launch their newly redesigned Drupal site, OMSI sought to fix some issues with rendering searching results for their Events and Showing content. Due to the nature of the content structure, it was not as simple as adding relationships and contextual filters into the View.

How I helped

After providing initial guidance into the recommended content structure, I worked with the OMSI development team to fix and adjust the rendered search results. Due to the nature of the View, it was impossible to use Views Distinct as this module processes distinct values with the query results (and therefore fails to page appropriately).

  • Functioning results page with appropriate content nodes based on their field collections.
  • Paging for multiple pages of results is functional.
